For any nation, to secure its future and bring prosperity, its very essential that people know about their political leaders and chose their future president purely based on her/his merits and leadership qualities.
However, how many people are aware of the presidential candidates? Most of the candidate's information are gathered from television, news papers, internet and other sources.
We are all aware how internet was used to in America's election by many presidential candidates, millions have been touched upon in unprecedented manner to get to know the people at gross root levels. Internet has permenently changed the way we look at elections.
In Indonesia, its time to do the similar, if not the same. Knowledgable people should come together and create an awareness among the people as to who should lead the nation. It should be done for the nation, if not for themselves. It's the time to act, though, we have little time left!
Indonesia as such is complex and vast country with so many cultures and practices, its a tough balancing act to keep the nation together and take the nation in progressive path. Indonesia's challenges are many. Future leader must not only aware of the burning national issues such as from recurring natural calamities, deforestation, poverty, inadequate infrastructure (education, medical, roads etc) to inefficient management of national resources, but also should be able to manage the nation's image globally.
All Indonesian citizens should participate in the process of selecting a most capable president not only for themselves but also for better future generations to come. Many people think its wasteful task to go vote in an election. It's a sin not to vote. All citizens should come together and participate in their nation building.
